1. Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts (Westport)
Perched right on the banks of the Saugatuck River in downtown Westport, the Levitt Pavilion is the undisputed crown jewel of our local summer music scene.
The Vibe: High energy, welcoming, and deeply community focused. You are sitting on a green lawn with the river behind the stage and the lights of downtown reflected on the water.
What to Expect: The Levitt presents dozens of free outdoor concerts every single season, spanning everything from jazz ensembles and indie rock to bluegrass, reggae, and family series shows. They also host select ticketed benefit shows featuring major national touring artists. You can pack your own picnic and drinks or grab a bite from local food trucks parked along Jesup Road.
2. Waveny Park Wednesday Summer Concert Series (New Canaan)
If you want to experience a classic, timeless New England summer tradition, head to Waveny Park on a Wednesday evening.
The Vibe: Relaxed, family friendly, and picturesque. Picture hundreds of neighbors laying out picnic blankets behind the historic Waveny House while kids play tag on the lawn.
What to Expect: Running every Wednesday night through early September, these free concerts feature fantastic regional cover bands, classic rock, big band swing, and acoustic pop. 3. Westport Country Playhouse (Westport)

Fairfield has a double-header when it comes to summer music. While the FTC (Fairfield Theatre Company) anchors the indoor/outdoor Warehouse venue near the train station, town life revolves around the historic Sherman Green in downtown Fairfield.
The Vibe: Vibrant, walkable, and bustling.
What to Expect: The town hosts free outdoor concerts at the Sherman Green Gazebo throughout the summer on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. It sits right in the middle of Fairfield's walkable dining district, meaning you can grab ice cream or dinner, stroll over to the green, and listen to local bands playing everything from blues to classic hits.
