1. Pink Sumo (Westport)
Tucked away at 4 Church Lane right in downtown Westport, Pink Sumo has been a beloved town staple for years.
The Vibe: High-energy, sleek, and exceptionally friendly. Whether you sit inside their stylish dining room or grab a spot on the outdoor patio, it’s always a lively, fun atmosphere.
What to Order: Their signature rolls are creative without being overly complicated. The "Pink Sumo Roll" and the "Out of Control Roll" are team favorites. Everything from the pristine sashimi slices to the perfectly seasoned rice is always top-tier. Plus, they have a fantastic daily happy hour if you want to kick off the weekend early.
2. Sushi Jin (Westport)
If you are looking for a dining experience that treats sushi like a true art form, Sushi Jin on Post Road East is a must-visit.
The Vibe: Intimate, calm, and sophisticated. It is the type of space where you want to sit at the counter and watch the chefs work their magic.
What to Order: While you can order a la carte, the real reason to come here is for their curated chef's omakase experience. The fish is meticulously sourced, and every piece is brushed with the perfect amount of house-aged soy sauce or topped with subtle garnishes that make the natural flavors shine. It’s an absolute standout for a special occasion.
3. Nordic Fish (Fairfield)
Located right on the Post Road in Fairfield, Nordic Fish is a hybrid concept that locals absolutely swear by. It is part high-end seafood market and part pristine sushi bar.
The Vibe: Casual, bustling, and entirely unpretentious. It’s our absolute go-to when we want to pick up an incredible platter for a weekend gathering or grab a quick, fresh lunch.
What to Order: Because they are a fish market first, the quality and freshness of their seafood are completely unmatched. Their classic spicy tuna rolls, salmon avocado rolls, and custom sashimi platters are cut to perfection. Grab a few rolls to go and head down to the beach for a sunset picnic.
4. Fin Japanese Restaurant (Fairfield)
Situated at 1241 Post Road, Fin is a classic neighborhood spot that consistently delivers incredible quality and fantastic service.
The Vibe: Relaxed, warm, and highly reliable. It is a great, easygoing spot for a family dinner or a casual Friday night catch-up with friends.
What to Order: Fin has a massive menu that balances traditional favorites with fun signature creations. Their "Fairfield Roll" and their white tuna pieces are consistently excellent. If you have someone in your group who isn't a fan of raw fish, their kitchen also turns out fantastic hot teriyaki and tempura dishes.
