Prudential Connecticut Realty Is Now – Berkshire Hathaway Home Services New England Properties
Prudential Connecticut Realty, with more than 50 offices and over 1500 real estate agents in Connecticut and Rhode Island, has been acquired in a deal by Berkshire Hathaway – a company founded by billionaire Warren Buffet – and renamed Berkshire Hathaway Home Services – New England Properties.
The Prudential Connecticut real estate group became a part of the extensive holdings of Berkshire Hathaway this past year after Berkshire Hathaway obtained a majority stake in Prudential Connecticut Realty’s parent company, Brookfield Asset Management.
Berkshire Hathaway Home Services of America partnered with Brookfield Asset Management to form the joint venture HSF Affiliates LLC, which will operate the Berkshire Hathaway Home Services real estate network.
Along with Prudential Connecticut Realty, several other Prudential Real Estate networks were also procured by Berkshire Hathaway. Warren Buffett’s worldwide holding company – Berkshire Hathaway Inc. – is hoping to re-brand all of the newly acquired real estate brokerage networks under its flagship name.
Throughout the country, more than two dozen brokerage networks associated with Prudential Real Estate are currently in transition to Berkshire Hathaway Home Services.
Although Berkshire Hathaway may seem like a new name to real estate, it’s a very familiar name on Wall Street. Barron’s magazine recently named Berkshire Hathaway the most respected company in the world. The former Prudential Real Estate network and its affiliates will continue joining the Berkshire Hathaway Home Services brand through 2014.
After Berkshire Hathaway Home Services California Properties was unveiled on Sept. 23rd, Prudential Connecticut Realty became the second real estate network to re-brand itself with the Berkshire Hathaway name just 4 days later.
Prudential Connecticut Realty is one of America’s largest brokerages according to REAL Trends, Inc. – considered to be the leading source of analysis and information on the residential brokerage and housing industry. Prudential’s Rhode Island Realty division will also adopt the Berkshire Hathaway name, operating as part of New England Properties.
Across the country, many see the arrival of Berkshire Hathaway on the residential real estate scene as a definite “game changer”, but experts don’t anticipate seeing any radical change from the way the previous offices of Prudential Realty were operated. Being one of the largest and most respected real estate firms in the country, Prudential Realty is looking forward to benefiting from its association with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services.
Even though the name and colors may have changed, Prudential Realty customers can continue to expect the same great company and service they have come to depend upon, along with the industry’s finest agents.
